Goals
- To create and maintain a supportive, attractive and safe community housing environment for a mix of single female and male adult residents from a variety of economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
- To provide the resources to help residents maximize their individual potential in terms of both relationship and career goals, and to develop within each house a sense of mutual concern and independence.
- To encourage and facilitate, where appropriate, the involvement of residents in the larger community.
Beliefs
- We believe all residents are entitled to a healthy, clean and safe environment free from intimidation and acts of violence.
- We believe our community is enriched by its diversity and we are opposed to any form of discrimination based on age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or socio-economic background.
- We believe that the residents should feel a sense of ownership of their home and community as an investment in the future.
- We believe in strong communities and neighbourhoods and that the residents should have a sense of belonging to the community as full participants, benefiting from it, identifying with it, and receiving support from it.
- We believe that, residents are empowered to control their own environment and have the ability to identify and resolve conflicts which affect the well being of their lives and community.
- In addition, we wholly subscribe to all the rights and privileges contained in the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
